Parent Portal
Parent Portal is a login-protected space that collects useful tools and information for HWDSB families including your child’s grades, attendance and schedule.
The Parent Portal supports busy families who want to:
- View your grades and attendance (secondary)
- Complete school and board forms online
- Report an absence from school
- Pay for school items or events using School Cash Online
- Find transportation information
- Communicate with your child’s teacher

Your child’s school can provide support if you are having trouble logging in or navigating the Parent Portal menu.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Parents do not need to add their students using an access ID and password. Student information is automatically attached. If you cannot access your student, please contact your school.
- Parents of students 18 years or older will not be able to access the Parent Portal until their child gives the school permission.
- HWDSB employees cannot use their HWDSB email account to access the Parent Portal.
- This parent account is separate from your child’s HUB account.
- All passwords and usernames are case sensitive. Check that your CAPS Lock is not on when signing into the system.
The Hub
The Hub is Ontario’s online learning centre where HWDSB educators teach content, assign work and receive submissions in a secure setting. Families can view their child’s assignments.

Microsoft Teams is a unified communications and collaboration tool that is used by staff, students and families.
Hamilton School Bus
Hamilton School Bus is the parent portal of Hamilton-Wentworth Student Transportation Services (HWSTS), which transports eligible students at HWDSB. Information on this portal includes details on your child’s stops, JK/SK authorizations and more.
SchoolMessenger
HWDSB and its schools use SchoolMessenger to notify families about unexplained absences, as well as other important announcements. Use the free SchoolMessenger app or website to select how you want to receive these messages – phone, email, app or text (standard rates apply).

HWDSB Helps
HWDSB Helps is a free and anonymous way for students to find help for themselves and one another. Tips may relate to student mental health, bullying, substance use and more. The service receives anonymous messages and shares the report with staff who follow existing Board and school protocols. This is not a crisis line or counselling service.

Community Involvement Hours
The Community Involvement Hours web page has resources for families and students regarding eligible activities as well as a tracking sheet that can be filled in and submitted to the Student Services Office.
